‘Riverdale’ resolved in second season

All seems calm until trouble comes to town in the second season of Riverdale, airing Oct. 11 on The CW at 8 p.m..

Based off of the vintage, bubble gum Archie comics, the first season of Riverdale left a feeling of dread after discovering Cliff Blossom (Barclay Hope) murdered his son Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines), brother of Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch). Cliff later committed suicide to avoid being arrested for the crime.

In the first season finale Archie Andrews (K.J. Apa) and his dad, Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) were at Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe, a malt shop diner, the day after the town found out what happened to Jason. While in the diner, Archie exited the restroom and saw a masked man point a gun at Pop Tate (Alvin Sanders), the owner of Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe.

The new season will take the last bit of innocence left for the people of Riverdale. An unknown feeling will plague Archie and his friends as the shooter could return to finish what they started.

The drama and mystery displayed always leaves the audience guessing what will happen next. Maybe everything will be resolved or elevated. Whatever the case may be, Riverdale will soon show the darkness lying beneath the surface.

The first installment in this twenty-two episode season is titled “A Kiss Before Dying.”
