Album Preview: Nas to reissue ‘Illmatic’ album for 20th anniversary

To celebrate “Illmatic”’s 20th anniversary, hip-hop and rap artist, Nas, will be releasing the album’s reissue.

On April 15, Sony Legacy will release Nas’ album “Illmatic XX” as a follow up of his 1994 debut album, “Illmatic,” that soon went down as a classic. This album will be a 2-CD set with a documentary included followed by Nas going on tour.

The documentary, “Time is Illmatic,” which will be directed and produced by One9  who is also a multimedia artist and editor alongside writer and producer Erik Parker who is a veteran music  journalist.

The documentary will be the follow up story of Nas’ previous album. It will be aired at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 16, followed by Nas performing.

Nas’ tour will start off at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts then onto this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
