To start off the show, the Daniel Pearl Magnet High School choir performs the "Star Spangled Banner" during the Starry Night performance on May 3.

Under lights simulating an evening under the stars, the Starry Night spring concert began with a lively mashup of Adele songs. The student musicians then continued the momentum  and sang a variety songs featuring themes of stars.

“We all sat together and decided to brainstorm themes for this concert,” bass player and sophomore Brayan Herrera Lopez said. “We were really interested in making it special. We talked about how cool it would be to sing under the stars and that’s how the theme came to be.”

From a performance by senior Layla Calderon and sophomore Andi Mendoza singing “City of Stars from the movie “La La Land” to the final performance by sophomore Logan Townsend singing “All Star” left the MPR ecstatic. By the end of Townsend’s performance, everyone in the room was up and dancing along to the finale.
