“Empire” fans let out your Lyon rawr as the second season of the hit drama returns this month.

Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson return to their roles as Lucious and Cookie Lyon.

The season two trailer shows Lucious in prison. He suspects it was his family who put him behind bars as a means to take over Empire records. The trailer, shows a first glimpse into the new Empire records as Jamal (Jussie Smollett) reigns over while Lucious is in prison. Cookie, Anika, Hakeem and Andre seeming to have kept busy as they’re seen strutting on Empire records grounds and by the looks of it they’re still trying to take over the company.

Cookie, looking fierce and fabulous as usual, is seen visiting Lucious in jail. The season two trailer even shows Cookie behind bars. Could someone have finally tamed the Cookie monster? Nope. It’s all just for show. The Emmy-nominated Henson is seen with a mic in hand while standing on a stage in front of a huge crowd. The event that is seen seems to be taking place a lot throughout the trailer. The event brings the brothers, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) and Jamal, back together. They are seen to be riling up the crowd at a mega-show, promoting Lucious’ freedom from prison with signs that say #FreeLucious.

In the drama’s sophomore season, there will also be major guest stars including Ludacris who posted an Instagram picture with him dressed as a prison guard, Chris Rock as a fellow inmate, Oscar winner Marisa Tomei as billionaire Mimi Whiteman, CSI alum and “Magic Mike” actor Adam Rodriguez as a possible new love interest for Cookie, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, music from Pitbull and more.

The second season of “Empire,” which is up for three Emmys, returns on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
