Junior Ileana Roca taps the screen of her iPhone to answer one of the numerous trivia questions in the massively popular game, “Trivia Crack.”

“Trivia Crack” is a trivia game that challenges friends to solve a variety of trivia questions. It has been the most downloaded application for over a month.

“‘Trivia Crack’ is great because you can play against your friends while learning new facts,” Roca said.

When a player starts playing, they can choose to either connect with the social media application Facebook to find friends to challenge or create a different account with an email.

There are two different modes to play with: classic mode and challenge mode. Classic mode allows the player to experience the whole game by pitting them against one of their friends or a random person. Challenge mode puts a group of friends in opposition of each other in a series of trivia questions.

When starting a turn, the player has to spin a wheel to land on one of six topics. Then they have to answer a multiple choice question based on the topic they landed on.

The topics that are quizzed consist of entertainment, geography, science, art, sports and history. Each topic has a animated character associated with it. All of these characters need to be collected to win the game. To collect a character, one needs to answer three questions correctly or land on the crown segment of the wheel. In addition they need to answer a question that pertains to the character they are trying to collect. The first person to gather all six characters wins the game.

Questions can be submitted by users so the game never gets old. Questions can be ranked “fun” or “boring” to ensure that the questions are popular and appeal to most people.

“‘Trivia Crack’ is a great game because it brings people together and we learn new things,” Roca said. “This game rarely gets old; I am addicted.”
