The Spring Concert was held on May 1 in the MPR from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for students, staff and families to enjoy. The Spring Music Concert consisted of student performances of songs such as “It Ain’t Me Babe” by Bob Dylan, “Amor Completo” (“Complete Love”) by Mon Laferte, “Teenage Dirtbag” by Wheatus and “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel. Additionally, members of Pearl Poetry performed their original poems such as “Taste of Freedom” and “Between The Petals of Spring.” The concert was also livestreamed on YouTube by Pearl Net News for those who couldn’t watch in person.

Tania Lopez, Online Editor-in-Chief
Tania Lopez is this year’s Online Editor-in-Chief for The Pearl Post. This is her second year on staff and she’s extremely excited to keep being part of an amazing team. Outside of The Pearl Post, she serves as the Vice President of the Class of 2027 and as a youth intern for Valley Views SFV Media. Her goal for this year is to get as many SNO badges for The Pearl Post website as possible. In her free time, she loves coding, going out with friends and crafting handmade jewelry.
Jenny Marquez, Print Editor-in-Chief
Jenny Marquez is this year’s Print Editor-in-Chief for The Pearl Post. This is her third and final year on the DPMHS Student Media staff, and she’s thrilled to lead an incredible team. At school, she serves as a co-host for the publication’s student-run podcast, Room 22 and is the Vice President of the Class of 2026, as well as the ASB Secretary. Additionally, she has serves on the Los Angeles Times High School Insider Advisory Board, the LAUSD Board District 3 Student Advisory Council and MediaWise’s Teen Fact-Checking Network. This year, she hopes to produce five printed magazines and strengthen her multimedia journalism skills.
Andre Arcilla, Digital Media Editor-in-Chief
Andre Arcilla is this year’s Digital Media Editor-in-Chief. This is his second and final year on staff. His goal on staff is to make sure there’s more videos on The Pearl Post site and social media and to further improve his writing skills. At school, he’s the president of the Art Club. During his free time, he enjoys video editing, listening to lots of music, drawing, and playing video games with his friends. He hopes to keep finding new and creative ways to express himself and tell stories.
Jasmine Thompson, Opinion Editor
Jasmine Thompson is a junior and this year’s Opinion Editor for The Pearl Post. It is her second year on staff and she hopes to help the staff writers speak up for what they believe in and be communicative with her team. Outside of The Pearl Post, Jasmine is the secretary for the Class of 2027 and enjoys listening to music while journaling.
Valerie Sanchez, Entertainment Editor
Valerie Sanchez is this year’s Entertainment Editor for The Pearl Post. This is her second year on staff and she is ecstatic to continue informing students about the news. Outside of The Pearl Post, she is a Pearl Ambassador who attends various magnet nights to promote the school. During her free time, she listens to music, attends many concerts, collects Smiskis, participates in political marches and enjoys playing video games with her close friends.
Isabella Tolosa, Yearbook Editor-in-Chief
Isabella Tolosa is a junior and this year’s Prestige Yearbook Editor-In-Chief. For her second year on staff, she aims to create an unforgettable year compiled into a book. At school, she serves as the president for both Hispanic Heritage Club and Sharks for Christ. She is also a Pearl Ambassador. Outside of school, Isabella enjoys listening to music, exploring places with friends or volunteering and being part of her community.
