New student body President Michella Mousaed, Vice President Waldir Henriquez and Treasurer Gor Mkrtchian look forward to the new school year and have several ideas they plan to work on.

“I want the better for the students’ lives and help ease the job for the administrators,” Henriquez said.

With a seat on the School Site Council, they try to make their voices heard. Mousaed has ideas for an outdoor stage on the Grove and an off campus lunch and she is waiting for the approval from the School Site Council to start her project.

Meanwhile, Henriquez tried his hardest to repeal the ban on electronics during nutrition and lunch. The ban was lifted at the School Site Council’s meeting in August.

“The hardest part is trying to solve the students’ problems as quickly as possible,” Mousaed said.

To be able to carry out all plans the student body envisions, Mkrtchian, manages financial and budget related issues. He took Leadership last year and learned how to take the initiative as well as some basic finances.

All of the officers have different reasons for taking the positions that they did, but Mkrtchian best explains the undercurrent that motivates them all.

“I decided that it would be a very enjoyable experience and chance to contribute to the school,” Mkrtchian said.
