Restaurant Review: The newest seafood sensation at Poke Tiki

Susannah Ness

Poke Tiki serves delicious poke bowls that leave your mouth watering.

Poke, a Hawaiian seafood salad dish, can be eaten as an appetizer or a full meal. Poke Tiki has six locations, all of which are scattered around Southern California; these locations are found in Tustin, Tarzana, Orange, Newport Mesa, Thousand Oaks and Costa Mesa.

Poke Tiki has an assembly line-style ordering and there are three different sizes: small (two fish) $8.99, medium (three fish) $9.99, and large (five fish) $12.99. First, you pick the base, white rice, brown rice or urban salad. Next, you can choose from tuna, salmon, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, albacore, baby scallop, cooked shrimp, octopus and tofu, for the fish.

You can also add toppings, which are crab meat, masago, avocado, seaweed salad, red onion, edamame, cucumber, green onion, ginger, wasabi, crunchy onion, dry seaweed, sesame seed and furikake. Last, you select your sauces, which are poke sauce, spicy mayo, volcano 1, volcano 2 and volcano 3.

Poke Tiki serves poke that you’ll never get tired of. As your order is customizable, you can change it up every time or just get the same thing. There are even options for meat-free or grain-free diets. When you order, you can take it to go or you can sit down and eat it at the vibrantly decorated restaurant. The employees are very friendly and you can tell they keep everything clean. When you order to go, they even give you a bag of ice to keep the fish fresh.

Poke Tiki is a definite go to for fast, delicious seafood. Even if seafood isn’t your favorite, you will still love this poke. Once you try it, there’s no turning back.
