Students in James Morrison’s anatomy and physiology class are currently working on their system cakes, a project where students learn about the different systems in the human body by replicating the systems on a cake. This school year, students must purchase all of their decorations, frostings and cakes pre-packaged rather than baking the cakes themselves due to safety concerns. There have been conflicts on other campuses where students have baked cakes at home and have placed illegal substances in them. This is why LAUSD set more demanding restrictions on what is allowed on school grounds.
