BCCHS water polo team rides winning streak to tournament sucesss

The Birmingham Community Charter High School water polo team has just completed a four-game winning streak that resulted in their winning their high school tournament. The BCCHS Patriots first two played regular season games against Pioneer and Montclair High Schools, winning 13-8 and 16-5, respectively. Those two wins got them a spot in the semi-finals, where they played Roosevelt High School and getting a solid win, 15-8. After that long journey, the Patriots finally arrived at the final, competing against El Rancho High School. This was their closest game yet, sneaking out a win by just two points, 12-10. The Patriots’ tournament win is in part thanks to DPMHS junior Max Grinfeld, who plays on the team and scored two of the goals in the final.
