The Pearl Post staff took home four awards, including two 10th place Best In Show for the newspaper and online website, at the biannual Journalism Education Association/ National Scholastic Press Association that took place in San Francisco on April 25-27. Seniors Elitza Batchiyska and Patrick Avagnon received an award in Excellence for News Broadcast package. The newspaper staff was also a finalist for an Online Pacemaker.
More than 4,000 high school journalism students and advisers attended the convention.
