Q: What do you enjoy most about DPMHS?
A: The thing I enjoy most about Daniel Pearl Magnet High School is the people here. They’re really kind and welcoming.
Q: How would you describe your freshman year so far?
A: My freshman year so far is great. My classes and my teachers are great at teaching me.
Q: What goals do you have for this school year?
A: Some goals I have for this school year are to finish three books and maintain mostly A’s and B’s.
Q: Where do you see yourself in four years?
A: I see myself in four years at a university, studying what I like and making some money.
Q: What’s your favorite class so far and why?
A: My favorite class so far is guitar. I love the hands-on learning and I love the guitar.
Q: What do you enjoy the most about DPMHS?
A: There is not a lot of work.
Q: How would you describe your freshman year so far?
A: It’s been good.
Q: What goals do you have for this school year?
A: (My goals are to) keep up good grades.
Q: Where do you see yourself in four years? In 10 years? Explain.
A: (I see myself) being exhausted, drawing or doing art.
Q: If you can add one elective, what would it be?
A: Learning about neurodivergent people.
Q: What do you enjoy the most about DPMHS?
A: Mainly just everyone’s friendliness.
Q: How would you describe your senior year so far?
A: (It’s) pretty exciting. I had an expectation of how this would go so far. It’s kind of like the expectation. I really like it. I made more friends than I thought I would.
Q: What goals do you have for this school year?
A: To get good grades and just be kind to everyone.
Q: Where do you see yourself in four years? In 10 years? Explain.
A: I see myself going to CSUN (California State University, Northridge) in order to study natural medicine. That’s pretty much it. My goal is to get into CSUN.
Q: If you could add any elective to the school, what would you choose?
A: I feel like dance. I would bring dance here.

A: What I enjoy the most about Daniel Pearl (Magnet High School) is the small school environment.
Q: How would you describe your freshman (or sophomore, junior or senior) year so far?
A: I would describe my freshman year so far as okay. Some of it’s easy, some of it’s hard and I have friends, so that’s good.
Q: What goals do you have for this school year?
A: Some goals I have for the school year are to get straight A’s.
Q: Where do you see yourself in four years? In 10 years? Explain.
A: In four years I see myself either in my senior year of high school or in my first year of college because I’m bad at doing math. In 10 years, I would see myself hopefully as a veterinarian but we’ll see.
Q: How do you feel about the small school environment?
A: I like it, it’s really nice. I feel like all the teachers know everyone so it’s nice.
Q: What do you enjoy most about Daniel Pearl Magnet High School?
A: The classes.

A: (My goals are to play) basketball, soccer or join clubs.
Q: How would you describe your freshman year so far?
A: I like it a lot. I would love to be a senior one day.
Q: Where do you see yourself in four years? In 10 years?
A: I see myself in 10 years right now, right here. I’m kind of good with other things.
Q: How did you find out about Daniel Pearl?
A: One day at my middle school, my mom told me that there’s a school right here and that it’s small. I said okay and she told me all about it so I decided to stay.
Q: What do you enjoy the most about DPMHS?
A: What I enjoy the most are my friends.
Q: How would you describe your freshman year?
A: I would describe my freshman year as okay.
Q: What goals do you have for this school year?
A: The goals I have for the school year are just to do all my work and get good grades.
Q: Where do you see yourself in four years? In 10 years?
A: I see myself in college doing my majors, what I want to be and still in school.
Q: How did you find out abt DPMHS?
A: My older sister came here, so I came here because my sister comes here.
Q: What do you enjoy the most about DPMHS?
A: The thing I like the most is the shark logo.
Q: How would you describe your freshman year so far?
A: Interesting, very interesting. It’s a step up from middle school because of dirty jokes and all that nonsense.
Q: What goals do you have for this school year?
A: Some goals that I have are to at least not get a D and somehow make it through life.
Q: Where do you see yourself in four years? In 10 years? Explain.
A: In four years I see myself sitting in a senior class. In 10 years, I see myself either working a high and well-paying job or going to college and working at McDonald’s for the rest of my life.
Q: Do you believe more schools should have Fiesta Fridays?
A: I do believe more schools should have Fiesta Friday because I feel like it’s great for morale. There should be designated places for certain times of year. If it’s winter nobody’s going to want to be outside and if it’s summer nobody’s going to want to be outside either. It’s really hot, but spring and that time of year is a really good time for it to be outside.
Q: What do you enjoy the most about DPMHS?
A: What I like most about DPHMS would be all of the clubs and different electives the school offers.
Q: How would you describe your freshman year so far?
A: If I were to describe my freshman year so far, it would be alright. The homework can be overwhelming sometimes but other than that, it’s been pretty chill.
Q: What goals do you have for this school year?
A: One goal I have for my school year would be to ace all of my classes by the end of this semester.
Q: Where do you see yourself in four years? In 10 years? Explain.
A: Where I would like to see myself in 4 years would hopefully be finished with college and have some sort of source of income where I can support my family and myself. Where I would like to see myself in 10 years would be having finished college by then, a stable job and family and reached an amateur level in my boxing career.
Q: What is your favorite part of DPMHS and what would you change about it?
A: My favorite part of DPHMS would be all the opportunities that the school has to offer for college prep and the music program. If I had one thing to change about DPMHS, it would be the YONDR pouches, as I find them annoying and would feel more comfortable with my phone open at school.
Q: What do you enjoy most about Daniel Pearl Magnet High School?
A: I enjoy that it is a small school and everyone is friendly with each other.
Q: How would you describe your freshman year so far?
A: I would definitely describe it as way calmer than other school experiences I have had.
Q: What goals do you have for this school year?
A: I am hoping to get all A’s and do really well with my classes.

A: I see myself hopefully graduating and going to college because I want to become a forensic scientist.
Q: If you were to recommend Daniel Pearl Magnet High School, what is one significant thing you would recommend?
A: I would recommend that if you like journalism or communications, then come here because we have a magnet for it.

A: Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Everyone here is nice.
Q: How would you describe your freshman year so far?
A: I would describe my freshman year as really good. I’ve made a bunch of friends and I like my teachers. I like the school.

A: My goal is to get all A’s.

A: I see myself finishing off my second year at CSUN. In 10 years, I’m hoping to see myself working as a Disney cast member in Disney World.

A: I found out about DPMHS at my school’s high school night, where DPMHS came to my school.
