Students and faculty participated in this year’s first-ever homecoming pep rally held in The Grove today during periods 5 and 6. This event was organized by the Associated Student Body and Leadership class and included activities such as volleyball, musical chairs and face paint. Nominees for the homecoming dance court were announced during the pep rally. Freshmen Mea Bailey and Axel Jimenez are running for homecoming lady and lord. Sophomores Zeike Palacios, Brenden Rosenthal and Emely Cortez are running for homecoming duke and duchess. Junior Jasmine Thompson is running for homecoming princess. Senior Delilha Trujillo is running for homecoming queen and senior Rey Harris is running for homecoming king. Each grade will have their own court election during the dance. Homecoming will take place tomorrow in the MPR from 6 to 9 p.m.

Louise Gaguet is a junior and starting her first year on the DPMHS Student Media staff. Her goal this year is to expand and share her creativity through her work, whether it be through her art or otherwise. Outside of DPMHS Student Media, she spends her time drawing, animating, listening to music and spending time with friends and family.

Alex Salcedo is this year’s Visual Editor for The Pearl Post. As a junior in his second year on the DPMHS Student Media staff, he is focusing on capturing moments that speak louder than words. This year, he aims to grow his portfolio and take the photojournalism aspect of The Pearl Post to the next level. Outside of school, you’ll find him refining his camera skills. He also enjoys playing music, going to the gym or catching up on much-needed sleep.

Desirae Carns is a junior starting her first year as a staff writer for DPMHS Student Media. One goal she has for this school year is to get better at writing and make sure her articles aren’t too bad the first time around. She is Songwriting Club president and a Pearl Ambassador. Outside of school, Desirae enjoys reading and playing the drums.
Brenden Rosenthal, Staff Writer
Brenden Rosenthal is a sophomore and in his first year on staff for the DPMHS Student Media. His goal for this school year is to express his passion for sports in his articles and photography. Brenden is Sports Club President, a Pearl Ambassador, a Board District 3 Student Advisory Council member and the class of 2028 President. Outside of school, Brenden likes training for various martial arts or running long distances.
