This local gem, hidden away in the West Valley, serves some of the most nostalgic and comforting Italian-American dishes. With its warm atmosphere and cozy interior, paired with cheap and absolutely mind-blowing food, Topanga Pizza Cafe is a must-try spot in the West.
From the moment you step into the Woodland Hills restaurant on Ventura Boulevard, the smell of freshly sautéed garlic hits your nose and you can hear cheese bubbling and melting on the pizza. Walking in feels like stepping into your Nonna’s kitchen. The comforting vibe continues with all the servers being familiar with the customers, treating everyone like family at Sunday dinner.
Locals swear by the Lobster Ravioli and the Lemon Garlic Chicken. The pasta here is top-notch and you can request special additions to each dish, which I find so thoughtful. It allows customers to express their creativity in the culinary world. However, my favorite dish isn’t even on the menu. My usual order is angel hair pasta with pink sauce, chicken, baked in mozzarella, with basil and sun-dried tomatoes. What comes out is a rich, creamy flavor bomb, all on a single plate for just $17.70. The sauce is sweet yet cheesy and creamy, like an Alfredo sauce. The chicken is incredibly flavorful and juicy.
The true star of the restaurant however, is undoubtedly the bread rolls. In my opinion, a good restaurant must serve great bread and this place definitely delivers. These rolls are nothing short of amazing: brushed with olive oil, infused with garlic and aromatic herbs, then sprinkled with chili flakes and a generous amount of parmesan cheese. They are served alongside a sweet yet refreshingly bright marinara sauce that ties everything together beautifully. The best part? They’re just $1.35. Absolute perfection.
If you are ever looking for a great place to eat after a long day, come here for the amazing and comforting dishes but stay for the warm, nostalgic atmosphere. From the music and decor to the joyful attitude of the servers, dining here truly feels like home.
