During Halloween season, candy comes to the minds of teenagers, some favorites being Kit Kat, Milkyway and Reese’s.

As Halloween approaches, The Pearl Post asked students to tell us about their favorite candy, their least favorite candy and a candy they wish they received more of.

“My least favorite Halloween candy is Tootsie Rolls. I would have to say my favorite candy is Starburst. I would like to see more Kit Kats in Halloween baskets because when I go trick or treating I only get one Kit Kat, so I would like to see more,” junior Valeria Negev said.

“I’d say my favorite candy from Halloween are M&Ms or Milky Way. My least favorite candy is Tootsie Rolls. I just find them gross. I believe the candy is very old, as well the texture of the candy is very sweet, small, chewy especially for my braces. The candy I would like to see more passed out during Halloween is sour candy. I will almost go the whole night never seeming to find sour candy being handed out. A brand of sour candy I would like more is known as a sour rainbow belt,” sophomore Alia Galvan said.

“My favorite Halloween candy is called YORK Peppermint Patties. I don’t like lollipops. I believe they are too long of a candy and yes, you can bite into it but most people just end up licking the candy. I think candy corn is something I would like to see more of. I never see it be passed out by anyone,” freshman Serena Elkins said.

“My least favorite candy is Almond Joy because if I was looking for almonds, I would just go to Ralph’s and buy it there. I want to be given real candy. My favorite candy is called Reese’s Take5. It’s filled with crunchy pretzels, smooth peanut butter, salty peanuts and sweet caramel all under the Reese’s chocolate coating. I would like to see Kit Kats handed out more. I want this candy to be passed out because I can eat it and never get tired of eating them,” senior Jamus Sheehan said.

“I would say my favorite candy is Twix. My least favorite Candies are Twizzlers, I feel like the candy is more like you’re eating a car tire just with sugar on it. I want to see Twix in Halloween baskets. I feel like the Twix is a perfect balance of candy with the caramel, the filling, and the chocolate. Which makes it a perfect option to have in Halloween baskets,” junior Arvin Khosravy said.

“My favorite Halloween candy is Resse’s all the way. I just love the combination of peanut butter and chocolate. My least favorite candy is Three Musketeers or any Tootsie Rolls. I don’t know why, I just never ate them as a kid, therefore I will never eat them now. I would like to see SweeTARTS in Halloween baskets more, I hardly see them in both mine and my siblings bags of candy. So just seeing more being passed out would be great,” senior Kayla Lopez said.

“My favorite Halloween candy is Sour Patch, Kit Kat and Snicker. I like the candy because the  candy gets sweeter when I’m given this candy. My least favorite is Tootsie Rolls, Twix and Butterfingers. I don’t like this candy because I see Twix and Butterfingers being advertised often and that Tootsie Roll has a weird flavor to it. I would like to see goody bags passed out on Halloween. I like the feeling that goody bags have a more mystical meaning because you can’t really see what you’re given. For me this adds more meaning when saying Trick or Treat,” junior Cinthya Rendon said.

“I have a very small opinion on Halloween candy. I do prefer certain brands like Milky Way but I don’t like Snickers. I only dislike Snickers because I’m not a big fan of chocolate with caramel or nuts in them. A candy I would like to see is Three Musketeers more often. I feel this is a better and cheaper option than Milky Way,” senior Ali Karimov said.
