Music festivals like South by Southwest, Lollapalooza and Warped Tour have captured the interest of young and old music-lovers for decades. Now, with the anticipation of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, there’s no shortage of excitement.

Coming up on its fourteenth year, Coachella takes place in the desert city of Indio. The three-day event allows concert-goers to camp out and enjoy friends’ company all while listening to their favorite bands.

This year, the event will cover the course of two weekends, April 12-14 and 19-21, due to the popular demand of tickets.

Performers range from current day rappers to pop artists and even include bands from the 80’s. Vampire Weekend, Modest Mouse, the Lumineers, the Xx and the Wu-Tang Clan are just a few of the many bands to look forward to at the event.

“I’m most excited to see Red Hot Chili Peppers, Two Door Cinema Club and Yeah Yeah Yeahs,” said junior Emon Abdullah.

For those who won’t be able to attend or didn’t get tickets in time, YouTube will be streaming the event live from the Empire Polo Club. You can find more information at www.youtube.com/coachella.
