Birmingham Community Charter High School’s (BCCHS) homecoming football game has been officially canceled after their scheduled opponent Taft Charter High School (TCHS) forfeited.

Breaking from the tradition of homecoming games being a home game, this year’s match was set to take place at TCHS due to the ongoing repairs to BCCHS’s football field. Although the game is no longer taking place, all other homecoming events, such as the homecoming dance, homecoming parade and homecoming tailgate, are unaffected. The tailgate will still take place Friday at the Haynes Field (P.E. Field.)

“With great disappointment, we’d like to announce that the Homecoming Game against Taft High School was canceled due to their team’s forfeit,” the official BCCHS Instagram account said.
