Russia will be hosting the 21st FIFA World Cup this summer from June 14 to July 15.

Thirty-two teams qualified for the event including Germany (four-time champions), the champions of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Brazil (five-time champions), Argentina (two- time champions), Spain (one- time champions), France (one-time champions), Netherlands, and Switzerland are also among the teams who qualified for the World Cup.

An important team to notice is Italy (four-time champions) who did not qualify this year.  This will be the first time since 1958 that they have not played.

The United States lost against Trinidad and Tobago 2 to 1, disqualifying them from the World Cup. This will be the first time since 1986 that the US will not be playing in the event. However, this will be the first year in 40 years that Trinidad and Tobago will be playing in the World Cup.

The first match will be Russia vs Saudi Arabia on June 14.
