Fun events that will not break the bank

Summer is just around the corner, and many already have their plans set. For those who don’t, there are various events you can enjoy without damaging your wallet.

1. Universal Studios Hollywood will have its grand opening on June 25 of its new addition to the iconic Studio Tour , “Fast & Furious – Supercharged” which will be a 3D experience that can’t be missed with the most expansive 360-degree screen. Along with the new live experience of “Springfield” from the Simpson Ride which will have guests feeling as if visitors were a neighbor of the Simpsons. The price starts at $95 and offers a buy a day get the rest of 2015 for free deal.

2. The Special Olympics World Games will be taking place July 25 to Aug. 2 in Los Angeles this summer.  Which you can sign up as a volunteer or buy your tickets online at the Special Olympics World Games of 2015. The opening ceremonies will  take place at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Then later on at USC, UCLA and the Los Angeles Convention Center.

3. The Los Angeles Film Festival will be held from June 10-18 in Downtown Los Angeles. More than 100 screenings will take place at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live Stadium 14, The GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live, FIG at 7th, Union Station and LACMA. Tickets sales to the general audience are now available and prices range from $13-25, depending on the screening.

4. If you’re looking for something fun and affordable, a movie will do. The Valley Plaza 6 is a great movie theater which sells tickets as low as $1.50 on Tuesdays and Sundays. Regular admission is $3 and 3D films for $5. The movie theater is located at 6355 Bellingham Ave., North Hollywood.

5. CSUN will be holding a Summer Movie Fest starting every Thursday from June 4 to Aug. 27, which take place at the Oviatt Library Lawn. This event is free and only a parking fee of $6 is required. Movies will begin at dusk and is located at 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge, CA 91330.

                                                                    Remember, fun doesn’t always have to be expensive. There are many ways to have fun and keep entertained without hurting your wallet this summer.
