On Sept. 23, ABC 7 News visited DPMHS, with a reporter and a cameraman to do a story on The Pearl Post’s recent nomination for a Pacemaker award. Reporter Adrienne Alpert came to the school to interview students and teacher about the journalism program and what it’s like being in one of the smallest schools and smallest programs in LAUSD.

The story is also meant to raise awareness about the students’ fundraising campaign to go to the Journalism Education Association/National Scholastic Press Association’s national convention in Washington D.C. Nov. 6-9 and possibly cause an increase in donations to the students’ fundraising site.

The story is expected to air today on Channel 7 at about 5:50 p.m. It will be posted on the ABC 7 website, too.
