Summer is approaching and whether you’re on a road trip, going to the beach or just want to chill, here is a list of songs that will brighten your summer experience.

For pop lovers who have awaited for the long school break, “Demons” by Imagine Dragons, “Happy” by Pharrell Williams and “The Man” by Aloe Blacc are guaranteed to liven up your day. These songs give the mood of enjoyment that leaves summer with unforgettable memories of relaxation and exuberance.

Hip-Hop/Rap is a genre worth listening to during chill-time. “We Dem Boyz” by Wiz Khalifa, “The Monster” by Eminem and “Say Something” by Mobb Deep will fill your relaxation with lyrical depth and an intense bass. When listening to these songs it is easy to understand what the rappers are saying. It isn’t like Tech N9ne rap where he raps so fast you can’t understand half the words. So if you’re into a slower kind of rap, or like these artists, these would be good songs for the summer.

For those who will spend their summer head banging, Rock/Metal is perfect for your playlist. Less than two months old, “Until It’s Gone” by Linkin Park, “Painkiller” by Three Days Grace, and “Pittsburgh” by The Amity Affliction are guaranteed to pump excitement. Whether you are a rock fan or not, these tracks have stellar instrumentals and addictive choruses.

Country music has it’s perks, after all it does have an award show to honor musicians of this genre. Country songs worth hearing this summer are “This is How We Roll” by Florida Georgia Line (feat. Luke Bryan), “Play It Again” by Luke Bryan and “Highway Don’t Care” by Tim McGraw (feat. Taylor Swift and Keith Urban) have melodies capable of making summer more enjoyable.

It’s difficult to create a perfect playlist since not everyone likes songs from multiple genres, but this is as close as one can get for this summer of 2014.
