Going 24 hours without any use of technology was really tough and boring. I can’t say I went a full day without technology because I ended up cracking.

When I wake up in the morning, I check my messages and all forms of social media. Since I couldn’t do that, I took my dog on a walk, a rare occasion for me. It was very relaxing, but I was still bored since I had no music to listen to.

Since I had nothing to do and no one to text, I just went back to bed for a few hours.

When I woke up for good, I helped my uncle make breakfast for my aunt and me. I don’t normally help with breakfast, but that day I did. We turned on the radio so we could listen to some music while cooking.

My day without technology happened on a Saturday and I had weekend homework. When I do my homework, I listen to music and I text friends with questions. Without technology, I finished my homework a lot faster.

I wanted to check my messages and my Snapchat so badly. My aunt and uncle were on their phones the whole day and it was difficult to not grab their phones and log into my social media accounts.

I usually don’t do physical activity by choice, but I felt really good after I dribbled and shot the basketball for a while in the backyard.

I will admit, going 24 hours without technology was really hard. There were numerous times where I got to anxious to use my phone. But I managed to get through most of the day without technology. Surprisingly I was very productive throughout that day. But unfortunately, around 9 p.m., I cracked.

It felt so good to respond to all my notifications and listen to music. I am disappointed that I couldn’t complete the full 24 hours without technology, but I was proud of how productive I was without any form of technology.
