This classic horror movie from 1978 takes place on October 31, 1963 in the town of Maddonfield. Six year-old Michael Myers stabbed his 15 year-old sister to death on Halloween night. Myers breaks out after being stuck inside an institution for 15 years. He escapes the night before Halloween to return to his hometown without them knowing of his break-out.

Psycho

Phoenix secretary, Marion Crane, wants to marry her love, Sam Loomis, but because he must pay his alimony they are unable to marry. Crane becomes agitated by her life and steals $40,000 from her employer. On her way to Loomis’ store, a storm stops her drive. She decides to stay at The Bates Motel until the storm settles. The remote motel is run by Norman, a quiet man dominated by his mother.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

On the way to visit their grandfather’s home, five teenagers run into some issues. They pick up an odd hitchhiker, have a meal at a gas station and then end up at their family’s old home. The house now inhabits grave-robbing cannibals, the family of the chainsaw killer.

The Shining

Father, writer and former teacher, Jack Torrence, agrees to take care of a hotel with a violent past. An evil presence causes Torrence to become violent and angry as his son’s “Shining” shows awful omens from the past and of the future. He uses this talent to inform outsiders of what is occurring inside the hotel.

Friday the 13th

The 1980 film is based at Camp Crystal Lake which was also the sight of the drowning of Jason Voorhees in 1957 which was a year before two summer camp counselors were murdered. When the camp is to reopen, camp counselors become the target of an unknown assailant who is out to murder them.
