In her first year of golf, Kakkorn “Fairy” Chotset swung her way to the California Interscholastic Federation golf tournament.
“The Birmingham team had to compete against about five to seven schools in order to qualify for the CIF golf tournament. But not the whole team made it. Out of 300 students, we all had to fight to be a part of the 129 students that actually go to the CIF tournament,” Choset said.
Choset has been playing Golf for nine years, yet she had never seen a golf course as big as the one where she competed for the CIF golf tournament. The grass was green, the air was cool and the puts were hard to score in.
“It was exciting to be a part of the CIF Golf tournament,” Choset said with a huge white smile. “I had never seen so many different styles on how the game is played, it was interesting to meet so many players. Overall, I liked the experience.”
