Tables covered with beautiful student artwork filled the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) on May 3 during lunch.

Students and teachers walked through the MPR amazed by what they had just seen. The art show didn’t just have drawings and paintings. There were also song lyrics on display.

Freshman Johana Cortes had multiple pieces in the art show. She painted watercolor portraits of girls she saw on Instagram.

“I am influenced by the emotions I am feeling and I try to express them through art,” Cortes said.

Jessie Rivera, a senior, had some of his art on display at the art show. Rivera uses his love for graffiti to incorporate words into his art. Rivera loves his art but it wasn’t his idea to be a part of the art show.

“People had to ask me to be in the art show because I am shy but proud of my work,” Rivera said.

Senior Jodie Morales first thought of the idea to have an art show when she realized that the school has many talented artists. Morales planned the whole show and found all of the talent, with the help of seniors Leah Morales and Ana Hernandez.

“A lot of people were enthusiastic to be a part of this show,” Morales said.
